Independent Medicare Broker in Florida —
I Work for You, Not the Insurance Company

Comparing Medicare plans on your own is time-consuming and confusing. As an independent broker, I compare options from 17 carriers side-by-side — Medicare Advantage, Medigap, and Part D — and help you find the right fit for your health needs and budget. My service is always free to you.

Why It Matters Who You Call

Not All Medicare Help Is the Same

Here’s what you get when you call an independent broker instead of a captive agent or a national call center.

17 Carriers Compared — Not Just One

A captive agent can only offer their company’s plans. I shop 17 carriers to find what actually fits your health needs and budget.

Tampa-Based, Not a Call Center

Those TV ads connect you to out-of-state reps who don’t know Central Florida networks. I’ve been serving the Florida market in the Medicare industry for 16 years.

Same Broker Every Time You Call

Call centers rotate reps — you re-explain your situation every time. When you call me, you reach me. No ticket numbers, no hold queues.

Annual Plan Reviews — Every Year

Plans change every January. I proactively review your coverage each fall before the Annual Enrollment Period so you’re never stuck on a plan that no longer serves you.

Always Free — Paid by the Carrier, Not You

My commission is paid by the insurance company when you enroll — my job is to find the right plan fit for you, not to push any particular carrier.

Plans G, High Deductible G, and N are some of the most popular in Florida. I’ll explain exactly what each plan covers, what your out-of-pocket exposure looks like, and which option makes the most sense for your income and health needs.

💊

Part D Prescription Drug Plans

Common Questions

Medicare Broker FAQ

What does an independent Medicare broker do?

An independent Medicare broker is a licensed insurance professional who represents multiple insurance companies — not just one. Unlike a captive agent who only sells one carrier’s plans, an independent broker can compare options across many carriers and help you find the plan that best fits your health needs, doctors, prescriptions, and budget. The broker’s commission is paid by the insurance company you enroll with, so the service is free to you.

Is using a Medicare broker free?

Yes — my services are completely free to you. I’m compensated by the insurance carrier when you enroll in a plan through me, but CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) regulates those commissions to ensure they’re equal across carriers. That means I have no financial incentive to steer you toward one plan over another — my only goal is finding the right fit for you.

How is an independent Medicare broker different from calling 1-800-Medicare?

When you call 1-800-Medicare, you reach a government information line — they can answer general questions but cannot recommend or enroll you in a plan. When you call a national call center advertised on TV, you’re often talking to a high-volume sales floor that rotates representatives and may have limited knowledge of your local plan options. With a local independent broker, you get someone who knows the your market, your local hospital networks, and the plans available in your area — and you’ll talk to the same person every time.

Which Medicare plans do you offer in Central Florida?

I represent 17 insurance organizations in the Central Florida area, including carriers that offer Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement (Medigap), and Part D prescription drug plans. This includes major carriers available in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Polk, and surrounding counties. Because I’m independent, I’m not locked into one carrier — I can shop the market on your behalf and show you a full comparison.

Should I choose Medicare Advantage or a Medicare Supplement plan?

The right answer depends on your health, your doctors, your prescriptions, and your financial situation. Medicare Advantage plans often have lower or $0 premiums but include cost-sharing like copays and network restrictions. Medicare Supplement plans (Medigap) typically have higher monthly premiums but offer more predictable out-of-pocket costs and broader provider access. There’s no universal right answer — which is exactly why talking to an independent broker who can walk you through both options side-by-side is so valuable.

Can I switch Medicare plans if I’m not happy with my current one?

Yes, in most cases. The Annual Enrollment Period (October 15 – December 7) is the main window when you can switch Medicare Advantage or Part D plans with changes taking effect January 1. There’s also an MA Open Enrollment Period from January 1 – March 31 to make one plan change. Switching from Medicare Advantage back to Original Medicare (and adding a Medigap plan) may involve medical underwriting in Florida. I’ll explain your options and timing in plain language during our consultation.

How does a Medicare consultation with you work?

Most of my clients find a 20–30 minute phone call is all it takes to get a clearer picture of their Medicare options. For those who prefer face-to-face, I also offer video consultations via Zoom or FaceTime. I serve clients throughout Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Polk, Hernando, Manatee, Sarasota, Desoto, Orange, Seminole, and Osceola counties — and because everything can be handled by phone or video, location is never a barrier. You can schedule a time that works for you using my online calendar, or just call me directly at 813-501-5011.

What happens after I enroll — do you still help me?

Absolutely. My relationship with clients doesn’t end at enrollment. I’m available throughout the year if you have questions about your coverage, encounter any issues, or need help navigating prior authorizations and referrals. I also proactively review plans each fall before the Annual Enrollment Period in effort to ensure my clients still have the right plan fit. You’ll always have a direct line to me — not a call center.

Ready to Stop Guessing and Start Comparing?

A 20-30 minute call is usually all it takes to figure out your best Medicare option. I’ll compare plans side-by-side, answer every question, and never pressure you into anything.
